Luella Irene Shoemaker

Luella Irene Shoemaker, 91, of Leesburg, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007, at 1:35PM in Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on October 30, 1915, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, to Lester and Hazel (Mock) Gray.

On June 1, 1947, she married Thurlow Shoemaker; he preceded her in death in 1972.

A long time Warsaw resident and a homemaker, Luella moved to the North Webster area more than 30 years ago. She was affiliated with the North Webster United Methodist Church and worked at Camp Atterbury as a civilian employee during WWII.

Survivors include 1 Brother: Ledru (Mildred) Gray of North Webster, 1 Sister: Marjorie (Charels) Moneyheffer of Nappanee, 3 Nieces: Elaine (Vern) Blucker of Goshen, Carrie (Glenn) Meeks of Seveirville, TN, Melody (Dan) Ewald of North Webster, 2 Nephews: M. Lynn Gray of North Webster and LaVon (Sandy) Gray of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband: Thurlow, 1 Brother: Charles Gray, 1 Nephew: LeVene Gray and one sister in law: Lorene Gray.

Services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007, at 12:00PM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel with Pastor Scott Mann officiating. Burial will be at the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Friends may call before services on Thursday, from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
