Phyllis K. Carter, 84, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 7:15AM at Avalon Village in Ligonier. She was born on November 24, 1922, in Churubusco, Indiana, to Art & Edith (Stroh) Bonar.

She was married to David Carter, her husband of 61 years. He preceded her in death in 2003.

The former Noble County Treasurer, Phyllis was a Noble County resident since 1942, coming from Churubusco. She was also a member of the Merriam Christian Chapel.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Deb (John) Landa of Syracuse, 2 Sons: Dennis Carter of Ligonier, Philip (Cheryl) Carter of Fort Wayne, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Brothers: JC Bonar of Albion, Dale Bonar of Loveland, Colorado, Stanley Bonar of Albion and Stephen "Mike" Bonar of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by 1 Son: David Carter, 3 Sisters: Joyce Thomas, Barbara Leatherman and Louise Bonar.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007, with the Reverend Terry Zollman officiating. Burial will be at the Sweet Cemetery in Albion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Merriam Christian Chapel.
