Delores M. Young

Delores M. Young, 80, of Bremen passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born April 21, 1931 in Osceola to Howard & Ethel (Sears) Gay. On May 9, 1948 she married Robert W. Young on her father’s farm in Mishawaka, with Pastor Howk officiating. Her loving husband of almost 64 years survives.

Delores was a homemaker and also worked for Bremen Bearings. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Warsaw and attended New Life Apostolic Church in Nappanee. When she was younger, Delores was very active in her church. She enjoyed making costumes and singing in the choir. She played the organ and the accordion, liked to crochet, painting and horses.

Survivors include husband Robert W. Young of Bremen, 2 sons: Larry L. (Evelyn) Young of Nappanee and Rodney H.H. Young of Bremen, 3 daughters: Cheryl D. (Greg) Long of Angola, Susan K. (Tim) Michaels of Ft. Wayne and Debra J. VanNess of Warsaw, 11 grandchildren, 19 grandchildren and one daughter-in-law Maria Yoder of Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her son Bobby, grandson Derek and sister Mary Jean Zumbaugh.

Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Dean Anglemyer. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 – 6PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 and from 2 – 6PM on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Apostolic Church, Nappanee.
