Betty J. Zillmer, 87, of Bremen, passed away Sunday, January15, 2012 at home. She was born July 26, 1924 to Nelson and Lula (Reese) Marks in Wyatt. On August 30, 1942 she married Clifford D. Zillmer.
Betty was a 1942 graduate of Lapaz High School. She was a homemaker as well as the book keeper for the family farm for 38 years. She also sold for Con-stan where she received several sales awards. Betty enjoyed traveling, visiting almost all the States, traveling overseas to Europe and taking a cruise to Alaska. Betty spent the winter in North Ft Myers for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing and latch hooking. She was a member of the Marshall County Home Ec Club and the Bremen United Methodist Church. Even with her struggles with cancer, she was a positive influence to her family.
She is survived by her husband Cliff, of 69 years, four daughters Kae (Steven) Forsythe of AR, Pamela (Steven) Miller of Bremen, Nancy (Bryan) Brenneman of TX, Cynthia Kling of Bremen, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters Luella Polly (James) Anderson of Bremen, Barbara Harley of Argos, Ellen Samuels of Plymouth, Janet (Joe) Mankowski of South Bend, two brothers Eldon (Diana) Marks of Fresno, CA, and Paul Jay (Cissy) Marks of Baltimore, MD.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Glen and Nelson, three sisters Madelyne, Marjorie, and Kathleen and one son, Nelson Dale “Sonny” Zillmer.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20 at Bremen United Methodist Church. Pastor’s Kevin Miller and Chuck Krieg will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 19 at Mishler Funeral Home.
