Donna Kay Neff

Donna "Kay" Neff, age 66, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at Goshen General Hospital following an exteded battle with cancer. She was born September 7, 1940 in Nappanee to Donald E. and Gladys (Bixler) Wagner. June 12, 1960 she married Michael Neff and he survives.

Kay was a lifetime area resident, moving to Syracuse in 1960. she retired after 35 years with Wawasee Community School Corporation working as a secretary at the elementary school, as a secretary for the Superintendent's office and as a library paraprofessional. She also worked several years for Ganshorn & Plumber Printing.

She was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Ruth Circle of the United Methodist Women. 1994-2003 she attended Brimfield United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Syracuse Ladies Roundtable and in 2004 she became a member at Saint Andrew's United Methodist Church. She was a 1958 graduate of Nappanee High School, and attended Bethel College for one year.

Survivors include her husband Michael of Syracuse, 1 son Brian (Keri) Neff of Rochester, MN, 1 daughter Kristine Neff of Palo Alto, CA, 3 grandchildren Kathryn, Trent and Aubrey Neff all of Rochester, MN, 1 brother Larry L. (Char) Wagner of Nappanee, 1 sister Annette "Ann" (Mike) Umbaugh of Nappanee and her mother Gladys Wagner of Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Wagner and a granddaughter Alexandra Neff.

Services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Saint Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1413 N. Long, Syracuse, IN, with Pastor Mark Eastway and Pastor Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee. Friends may call 2-8PM Tuesday at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse.

Memorials may be given to Saint Andrew's Matthew 25 Fund, Calvary United Methodist Chruch or Brimfield United Methodist Church.
