Carl D. Shoup, 80, of Dunlap, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. He was born on September 3, 1927, in Goshen, Indiana, to Clifford and Rosetta (Goppert) Shoup.
He married Betty L. Rash, his wife of 60 years, on June 29, 1947. She survives.
A lifelong area resident, Carl worked as a butcher for over 50 years before retiring. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was a life member of the American Legion Post #143 in Bristol.
Survivors include His Wife: Betty L. Shoup, 1 Daughter: Charline (Greg) Siberry of Elkhart, 2 Sons: Tom Shoup of Elkhart and Paul Shoup of Walkerton, 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by an Infant Daughter: Carla May, His Parents and 1 Brother.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Reith-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main Street, Goshen, IN 46526. Pastor Michael Curton will officiate. Burial will take place at the Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Friday, September 7, 2007, at Reith-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home in Goshen.
