Ethel “Jackie” Radican, 66, of Zapata, TX, formerly of Bremen, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007, in Zapata, TX. She was born on November 3, 1940, in South Bend, IN, to Jack & Bertha (Cochran) Stanifer.

She married Robert Radican on New Year Eve, 1968. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Jackie lived in Bremen most of her life and spent the last 14 years in South Texas. She loved to cook and bake to share with others. Jackie wrote a weekly gardening column for her local newspaper in Texas. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mysteries. She learned to fish from her father and enjoyed it her whole life. She enjoyed working with special needs children. Jackie graduated from Bremen High School in 1958.

Survivors include 3 Sons: James (Tammie) Radican of Plymouth, Joseph Radican of Zapata, TX, Kirk Radican of Virginia, 1 daughter: Margaret (Billy) Knowles of Mishawaka, 5 grandchildren: Christian & Ian Radican of Plymouth, Nichole & Brandon Knowles of Mishawaka, Michael Radican of Virginia, 1 brother: Doug Stanifer of Bremen, 1 sister: Pat Dobrunst of Bremen, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and Brother George Stanifer.

Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, October 19, 2007, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Wilson Shabaz will officiate. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the funeral home.
