Mary Lou Smith, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. She was born on November 12, 1927, in New Paris, IN, to Irvin & Ina (O'Neal) Stiver.
On February 15, 1947, she married Forest "Bud" Smith;" he survives.
A lifelong area resident, Mary Lou worked in the Syracuse Clerk-Treasurer's Office for 10 years. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Syracuse and a graduate of New Paris High School.
Survivors include her Husband: Forest "Bud" Smith of Syracuse, 1 Son: Michael (Pam) Smith of Millersburg, 2 Granddaughters: Amanda (David) Davis of Albion and Anne (Scott) Richey of Syracuse and 6 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Brothers: Donald (Lena) Stiver of New Paris and Robert (Marge) Stiver of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 infant sons and 1 Brother: William Stiver.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 10:30AM, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Friends may call from 3-8PM Tuesday at at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Syracuse Cemetery.
