Thomas Simon, Jr., 79, of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the Community Hospital of Bremen. He was born on November 24, 1927, in South Bend, IN to Thomas & Ethel (Baker) Simon, SR.
On July 3, 1976, he married married Betty (Tavernier) in Mishawaka, IN. She survives.
Thomas lived in South Bend and moved to Bremen in 1992. He was a Tapper operator for RACO in South Bend, retiring in 1990 after 45 years. Thomas was a loving father and grandfather and a devoted husband. He was a WWII US Army Veteran.
Survivors include his Wife: Betty of Bremen, 5 Daughters: Terrie (Stan) Lisek of South Bend, Tina Rowe of South Bend, Billie Jean (Mike) May of Virginia, Tammy (Mac) McCarter of Rochester, Chara (Terry) Findley of South Bend, 2 Sons: Larry Thomas Simon of South Bend and Russell (Sheryl) Duckwall of South Bend, 1 Step Daughter: Marlene Lisek of Mishawaka, 1 Step Son: Bill (Claudia) Surguy of South Bend, 1 Sister: Joyce Wesolowski of South Bend, 18 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 1 Son-in-law: Mark Gustafson of South Bend. He was preceded in death by: His parents, 1 Great Grandson Joshua Thomas, and 1 son-in-law Jim Rader.
Services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007, 10:30AM, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Rev. Jim Morse will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6PM Sunday at the funeral home.
