Dr. Robert Joseph Johnson was taken home to be with his Lord October 31, 2007. He was born to Joseph & Wellodene Johnson on September 29, 1927 in Kankakee, Illinois. After high school he served in the US Air Force for several years. He attended Denison University and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He graduated from Indiana University Dental School in 1955. He practiced dentistry in Carmel, Indiana for over 30 years. He was an innovative leader in dentistry, holding several patents & trademarks for his original work. He was an active Lion for many years. He held an amateur extra class license for ham radio. He enjoyed talking to other amateurs all over the world and was active in the local C.A.R.S. club and the national YLSS group. He was a Jr. Navigator and enjoyed sailing, boating and fishing. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years Barbara, Three daughters and son in laws; Lisa & Bob Modisett, Shelley & John Haffner, Kristin & John Kellerman and seven grandchildren; Erin, Carly, Katie, Jared, Benton, Michael and Peter, and two sisters; Jean Frank and Rieta Lambrecht, four nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter Gail Suzanne.
A visitation for Dr. Robert Johnson will be held on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church of Punta Gorda, 4005 Palm Drive, Punta Gorda, Florida. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the Church, with Pastor Clyde Kaminska.
Local services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Building Fund of Faith Lutheran Church in Punta Gorda, Florida. 4005 Palm Drive, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.
