Roland E. Hansen, 81, of Bremen passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. He was born June 21, 1926, in Bremen, Indiana to Frank and Mabel (Schneider) Hansen. On Nov. 1, 1947 he married Evadean V. Clindaniel. She survives. He was a lifetime area resident.
Roland was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bremen, was a US Army WWII Veteran serving in the 314th Infantry, 1st Division, a charter member of Bremen VFW Post 8972, and a member of Bremen American Legion. He retired from Miller Bearing in Bremen after many years. He also worked in radio and television repair.
Survivors include 2 sons: Michael (Joyce) Hansen of Bremen and Terry (Pamela) Hansen of Bremen, 1 daughter: Debra (Mark) Thompson of Argos, 1 step-sister: Ruth Keck of Bremen, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Curtis and 2 brothers Richard and Robert.
Services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Gary Hinkle will officiate. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 – 8 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to may be made to the Bremen VFW #8972/American Legion or the Pet Refuge (2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana 46544).
