Paul G. LeCount, 90, of North Webster, Indiana, and formerly of Wawaka, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne following a brief illness.

Mr. LeCount was born in Perry Township, Noble County on October 2, 1914, to Jesse and Florence (Miller) LeCount.

After graduating from Wawaka High School, Mr. LeCount attended Manchester College. On April 1, 1939, he married Helen K. Yeager at the Topeka Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2004.

Mr. LeCount engaged in farming prior to moving to Epworth Forest at North Webster 31 years ago. He and his wife spent 33 winters in the Leesburg, Florida area. He had also worked for the Napoleon Egg Company, the Noble County Highway Depart-ment and the Noble County Farm Bureau Co-op. While in Florida, he worked for a mobile home manufacturing company and also operated his own mobile home repair business. He retired at age 85.

He was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church. While residing in Noble County, Mr. LeCount belonged to Asbury United Methodist Church in Albion, where he served in various capacities. He also served on the board of directors of Napoleon Egg Company, Noble County Farm Bureau, and the Noble County 4-H Exhibit Corporation.

In recent years, Mr. LeCount enjoyed attending antique tractor shows and was especially interested in Oliver farm equipment. In August, he traveled to Wisconsin and earlier this month attended a show in Illinois.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Nelson and Joy LeCount, of Wawaka; a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Garry Dowden of Thorntown, Indiana; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, JoNel and Jeffrey Kurtz and a great-granddaughter, Amelia LeCount Kurtz all of Wawaka.

Also surviving are two sisters: Kathryn Juday Spahr of Syracuse, Indiana and Doris Jean Ferrari of San Antonio, Texas, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Schermerhorn.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m on Wednesday, September 28, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, Indiana, with the Rev. Scott Mann of the North Webster United Church officiating, with Saneta M. Maiko of the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana chaplain staff assisting. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the mortuary.
Internment will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
