Burton E. Niles

Burton E. Niles, 86, of Warsaw, passed away on March 2, 2008, at 1:47PM at Grace Village Healthcare in Winona Lake. He was born on September 3, 1921, in Syracuse, to Roy E. & Edna M. (Searfoss) Niles.

On September 22, 1943, he marreid Helen Maxine (Olwin) Niles. She preceded him in death on October 15, 2004.

A Lifetime area resident, Burton was a Math Teacher and Coach of many sports for several schools, including Leesburg, Warsaw, Pierceton and North Manchester. He previously attended the Leesburg United Methodist Church, was a Scout Leader for many years, and a WWII Navy Veteran.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Patricia Somers of Fort Wayne, 2 Sons: Michael B. Niles of Warsaw and Benjamin M. Niles of Syracuse, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 2:00PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse. Burial will be at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service on Friday at the Funeral Home. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Webster American Legion Post 253.
