Robert Allen Whitsel

Robert Whitsel, 68, of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Valley Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on April 17, 1939, in Bremen, IN, to Richard & Veloice (Mitchell) Whitsel.

He married Martha Kuntz on September 25, 1959, in Bremen. She survives.

A lifetime Bremen resident, Bob
attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School and went on to graduate from Bremen High School in 1957. He was a lineman with the electrical department for the Town of Bremen for 28 years and a member Bremen Volunteer Fire Department for over 24 years. He loved to sing, enjoyed Karaoke and bowled for Hoople’s bowling league in Bremen for many years. Bob worked for St. Joe RMC/Dr. Kolbe at Bremen Family Medicine office for 14 years.

Survivors include his Wife Martha Whitsel of Bremen, 2 sons: Blane (Irina) Whitesel of Mishwaka, Shane (Kim) Whitsel of Bremen, 1 granddaughter: Alexia Whitsel
2 step-grandchildren: Zach (Stacey) Thompson of Mishawaka, Chadd (fiancée Jen) Johnson of Nappanee, 4 great-grandchildren,
Mother: Veloice Whitsel of Bremen
4 sisters: Barbara Crothers of Bremen, Marcia Osterbur of Bremen, Helen (Keith) Bellman of Bremen, Katie Delong of Bryon, OH. He was preceded in death by his Father Richard Whitsel.

Services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008, 10:30 AM, at
Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate. Burial will take place at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, April 3, 2008, 3-8PM at the funeral home where a Fireman Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 pm.

Memorial contributions may be give to the Community Hospital of Bremen or Bremen Volunteer Fire Department.
