Helen Louise (Dobelstein) Helmlinger, age 84, of Bremen, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005, at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born on February 3, 1921, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Emil A. & Irma M. (Stromp) Dobelstein.
Helen was a secretary for Bridgeport Brass while in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She moved to Bremen 59 years ago and was a legal secretary for Alexis Clarke and David Holmes, attorneys. She also worked for Meister Drug Store in Bremen. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen.
On January 30, 1946, she married William E. Helmlinger, who survives.
Surivors include her husband: William F. Helmlinger of Bremen. A daughter: Cheryl A. (Charles) Wildauer, of Allen, Texas; and a son: William K. (Suzi) Helmlinger of Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren: Matthew Wildauer, Andy (Jessica) Wildauer and Micah Wildauer; Kai (Lynn) Berry-Helmlinger and Arick Helmlinger; Melody Ribstein and Amanda (David) Ribstein-Osgood; Mark (Heidi) Wildauer. A son-in-law also survives: Rev. Leonard Wildauer of Bonduel, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Judith E. Wildauer and 2 grandchildren: Benjamin P. and Timothy N. Wildauer. A brother: Edward "Bud" Dobelstein and infant sister: Ruth E. Dobelstein.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center Street, Bremen. Reverend Roger Rohde and Reverend Neil Wonnacott will officiate. A private family burial will take place in the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School Building Fund.
