Reverend Barbara (True) Galbraith Johnson, age 64, of Leesburg, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2005, after a lengthy illness at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on February 26, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, to Robert G. & Juanita (Iiames) True.
Rev. Johnson was originally from Dayton, Ohio, moved to Elkhart in 1984, and moved to Leesburg in 1990. She was a retired Pastor, serving Morris Chapel for 6 years until retirement in 2000, due to illness. She attended Leesburg United Methodist Church, was a member of the North Indiana Conference of U.M. Church, one of the original members of The Willows Quartet, member of the church choir and the Tippecanoe Sailing Club.
On May 29, 1993, she married Howard E. Johnson, who survives.
Survivors include her husband: Howard E. Johnson, her mother: Juanita True of Dayton, Ohio, 2 sons: Michael Douglas Galbraith and Adam Lee (Shelly) Galbraith both of Dayton, Ohio, 1 brother: Robert (Rosetta) True of Dayton, Ohio, 4 granddaughters, 4 step daughters: Deborah Horlak of Stockton, California, Roberta (Robert) Fee of White Lake, Michigan, Diana (David) Heller of Ferndale, Michigan, Melinda (Joe) Gurak of Sterling Heights, Michigan, 1 step son: Howard Michael (Stephanie) Johnson of Colleyville, Texas, 13 step-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law: Roberta (Robert) Grimm of Buffalo, New York and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and 1 brother: Danny Edward True.
Services will be held at 12:00PM Friday, October 21, 2005, at the Leesburg United Methodist Church. The Reverend Michael Heath will officiate. Friends may call from 4-8PM Thursday, October 20, 2005, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Leesburg United Methodist Church.
