Lillian Evelyn Disher, 87, 12211 N. Syracuse-Webster Road, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Goshen Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Calvary United Methodist Church of Syracuse. The Rev. David B. Herr will officiate. Burial will be in the Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.
Lillian was born on March 11, 1921, in Benton to Roy Omar and Katherine Bernice (Alwine) Wortinger. On December 9, 1939, she married Charles DeWitt Disher. They Celebrated 61 years of marriage.
She was a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker but also worked at many local businesses throughout her life. She was a 58 year member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. She was active in the church choir for 50 years, a member of the Calvary's Kitchen Band for 10 years, and their Rhythm Band for 25 years entertaining at the Milford Nursing Home. She also taught Nursery School for 20 years and belonged to the Martha Circle.
She graduated from New Paris High School in 1939.
Surviving are her son Michael D. (Angela) Disher of Navarre, FL; a daughter Carolyn S. Disher of Goshen; five (5) Grandchildren, Constance (Scott) Nowicki, Michael (Sandi) Disher, Jr., Kathleen King, Shannon (Jason) Stevens, David (Tammy) Disher, and thirteen (13) Great-Grandchildren; one special life-long friend, Priscilla Garner of Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles DeWitt, and a daughter, Constance Elaine.
Memorial donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church Music Department or the American Cancer Society.
