Elmer B. Ruch, 93, Milford, passed away on April 5, 2008, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake, Indiana. He was born on September 14, 1914, in Milford, to Henry & Freda (Lantz) Ruch.
On November 14, 1936, he married Berniece Whisler. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1994. In 1996, he married Fredonna Custer; she survives.
A lifetime area resident, Elmer worked as an electrician for over fifty years, during which time he worked independently as well as working for the B&O Railroad and the Kosciusko County Highway Department. He was a Member of the Milford Christian Church, a 32nd degree member of the Kosciusko Masonic Lodge, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, charter member of the Milford Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite and had served several years on the Milford Fire Department.
Survivors include his Wife: Fredonna, a Daughter: Donna (Stephen) Varner of North Webster, a Son: Max B. Ruch of Hernando, MS, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, 2 sisters: Kathrn Longeor of Goshen and Wilman Burkey of Bristol. He was preced in death by his Parents, an infant son, 3 Brothers: Bob, Fred and Water Ruch, 2 Sisters: Lena Beer and Lea Frush.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 2:00PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Solomon Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services (from 12-2PM on Wednesday) at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Fire Department.
