William Frederick ("Bill") Hundt, 69, of Bremen, went home to be with The Lord Thursday, June 13, 2013. While descending from a tree after a day of hunting, a branch broke causing him to fall and incur spinal injuries which rendered him a quadriplegic. He fought the good fight through many complications, and by God's grace he now has peace.
Bill was born September 30, 1943 to the late Arthur Hundt, Sr., and Helen Hundt. On October 1, 1960 he married Donna Reaker who survives. Together they were blessed with three children, Robin (Lori) Hundt, Todd' (Amy) Hundt, and Michael (Karen) Hundt, seven beloved grandchildren, Zach (Toireasa) Hundt, Katie (Gabe) Hall, Drew Bennitt, Connor Hundt, Alison Hundt, Jacob Hundt and Brittney Hundt, as well as one beloved great-grandchild, Natalie Hundt, who survive. Also surviving are four brothers and eight sisters, Luella Powell, Richard (Loretta) Hundt, Judy Lohagen, Carolyn (David) Colburn, George (Sue) Hundt, Barbara (Steve) Harrington, Patty (Richard) Igelski, Paul (Christine) Hundt, Kathy Garza, Frank (Robin) Hundt, Lila (Bill) Harmon, and Tenna (Mike) Walenga as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Arthur Hundt, Jr., Robert "Bob" Hundt, Beverly Davis and Delores Ogle.
Bill was a hardworking employee of Bremen Castings for 43 years and Monaco Coach for 18 months and he loved to check in on Precision Painting. Bill attended the Bremen Church of God and was devoted to serving The Lord and helping out anyone and everyone in any way he could. He loved his family and had special places in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Bill's doctors and all the
staff at Kindred nursing home in Bremen. Bill truly appreciated the care he received and often commented that they made it feel like home.
Funeral services for Bill will take place at the Bremen Church of the Brethren, 921 Woodies Lane, Bremen, Indiana on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Tom Brown will officiate and burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Church of the Brethren on Thursday, June 20th from 3 to 8 PM at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Bremen.
