Betty L. Schmucker, 77, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born on March 16, 1931, in Inwood, IN, to Albert & Goldie Marie (Cooper) Magner.
On August 28, 1953, she married Freeman Schmucker. He survives.
A homemaker, Betty resided in Nappanee and Syracuse. She was a Member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren. She served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts for many years and was a gifted seamstress.
Survivors include her husband: Freeman, of Syracuse, her Mother: Goldie Marie Magner of Elkhart, 2 Daughters: Cindy (Jerry) Yoder of Etna Green, Patty (Tim) Seman of Wawaka, 4 Sons: Michael (Cathy) Schmucker of Nappanee, Terry (Kim) Schmucker of Winter Haven, Florida, Dennis (Penny) Schmucker of Elkhart, Randy (Stephanie) Schmucker of Warsaw, 16 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, 6 Sisters: Mary Zablocki, Helen Parson, Gloria Woodruff, Sandy Dash, Trudy Dudley and Judy Zimmerman, 2 Brothers: Jack Magner and Arley "Bud" Magner. She was preceded in death by her Father and a Sister: Carla Zimmer.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 10:00Am at the New Salem Church of the Brethren, on the corner of 900 N & 250 E, Milford. Pastor Robert Rice and Pastor Larry Rice will officiate. Burial will be at the South Union Cemetery in Nappanee. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8PM on Wednesday at teh Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford.
