Vaughn L. Hinesley, age 87, of Syracuse, formerly of North Webster, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born April 18, 1918, in Rochester, Indiana, to Merton & Pearl (Allison) Hinesley.
Vaughn, a lifelong North Webster resident who moved to Boyton Beach, Florida in 1982 and returned to North Webster in June, 1998, owned North Webster Concrete Products and, in the early 50s and 60s, owned and operated the Central Lakes Speedway in North Webster. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, and attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego and the North Webster Church of God. He was a Mason with membership in the Blue Lodge in Cromwell and the Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shriners in Fort Wayne. He was a Rochester High School graduate.
On May 7, 1938, he married Eloise E. Hanks. She survives.
Survivors include his wife Eloise E. Hinesley of Syracuse, 2 daughters: Maralyn Hamilton of Lafayette, Georgia, and Sharon Hinesley of North Webster. A son: Aaron Hinesley of Mt. Dora, Florida, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Karen Hinesley-Shoda, a sister: Irene Ball and a granddaughter: Therrian Hinesley-Freeman.
Services will be held 10:00AM Friday, November 4, 2005, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse. Dr. Rick Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the North Webster Mock Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Thursday, November 3, 2005, at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30PM, the evening of the visitation at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Goshen or the Cancer Treatment Centers of Goshen.
