Edwyn "Ed" G. Caskey, age 91, of North Webster, formerly of Wilcottville, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2005, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on July 20, 1914, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Edwin and Florence (Tully) Caskey.
Ed was the Director of Oakwood Park from 1946-1953 and was the custodian for Syracuse School Corporation, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Charter member of Syracuse Lions Club, and involved with the little league in Syracuse for many years.
On September 19, 1936, he married Virginia Mae Wise in Mishawaka. She survives.
Survivors include his wife: Virginia of North Webster, 1 daughter: Sharilyn (Jim) McLaughlin of Noblesville, 2 sons: Dan (Kelly) Caskey of Elkhart, Jim (Kay) Caskey of Leesburg, 2 sisters: Helen (Erv) Zelmer of South Bend and Pat (Joe) Mechling of Mishawaka, 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister: Jean, 2 brothers: Dick & Bill.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at 10:30AM at the Calvary United Methodist Church. Rev. David B. Herr and Rev. John Modesitt will officiate. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM Monday, November 7, 2005, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse.
Memorials may be given to the Calvary United Methodist Church.
