George N. Staples

George N. Staples, 90, of North Webster passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Warsaw Meadows Nursing Home. He was born on May 27, 1917, in Roseville, KY, to John Staples and Katherine Keown.

On November 27, 1947, he married Corrine Stanfield. She preceded him in death.

George was an area resident since 1947, coming from Lewisport, KY. He worked at North Webster Lumber Company from 1947-1977 and was a member of the North Webster American Legion, Post 253. He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran.

Survivors include 1 Son: Joe Staples of Logansport, 2 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson and 1 Sister: Catherine VanVactor of Lewisport. He was preceded in death by his Wife, 1 Sister and 1 Brother.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 2:00PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Burial will take place at North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be military honors by the North Webster American Legion, Post 253.
