Dora Rowena Elliott, 89, of Syracuse passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Mill Shoals, IL on December 26, 1918 to Roy James & Flora (Summa) Belangee. On June 14, 1947 she married Harold Vernon Elliott, and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Dora began spending the summers in Syracuse in 1964, and moved here permanently in 1977 coming from Saginaw Michigan and Anderson. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Anderson High School in 1937, and a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Belinda (Jerry) Claybaugh of Syracuse, and Mary Alkire of Fort Wayne. 1 son: David (Sherry) Elliott of Syracuse, and 1 step son: Roger (Susie) Reed of Anderson. 2 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and 3 Step Great Grandchildren. 1 sister: Neva (William) Pleasants of Gahanna, OH.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Rosa Moss and Joan Elsten.
Services will be Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the chapel on the grounds of Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson at 2:00 PM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
Visitation will also be on Monday, June 2, from 4-8 PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
Memorial may be given to the charity of the donor's choosing.
