Mr. Philip D. Brower, age 84, of Leesburg passed away June 3, 2008 at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne. He was born on February 7, 1924, in Syracuse to Floyd M. & Alda (Guy) Brower.
On November 26, 1949, he married Eunice Bracken. She survives.
A lifetime area resident, Philip was the Superintendent of Equipment for Elkhart County High Department, retiring in 1987, after 34 years. He was also a farmer. He was a member of the Pierceton Presbyterian Church, WWII US Navy Veteran, serving on the submarine USS Cobia, North Webster American Legion Post 253, VFW and NRA. Philip was a 1942 graduate of Syracuse High School and attended Hemphill Diesel School in Memphis, TN.
Survivors include his Wife: Eunice Brower of Leesburg, 1 Daughter: Amy (Steve) Hegg of Indianapolis, 1 Son: Andy Brower of Elkhart, 1 Granddaughter: Kaley Brower of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Sister: Martha Todd and 1 Brother: Max.
Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 10:30AM, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Friends may call from 3-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Webster Mock Addition, with a military graveside service. Pastor Steven M. Mullin will officiate. A Submarine Veterans Memorial Service will be held Thursday.
