Marvin Sumpter

Marvin “Muzz” Sumpter, 86, Bremen, passed away on June 4, 2008, at his residence. He was born on February 27, 1922, in Elkhart, to Evert & Goldie (Pittman) Sumpter.

He married Nellie Mae Lidgard on July 4, 1942. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1992.

Marvin was a Mechanic and small engine repairman for Bendix. He was a WWII Veteran with the US Air Force and a Lifetime member Bremen VFW Post #8972.

Survivors include a Son: Tom (Sherry) Sumpter of Morriston, FL, a Daughter: Janice (Charlie) Spencer of Bremen, 4 Grandchildren: Ginger Dwyer, Bethany Goedecke, Angela Spencer-Reed, Brad Spencer, 6 Great Grandchildren: Heather Dwyer, Sara Dwyer, Noah Reed, Elijah Reed, Mikalah Spencer, Lorelai Goedecke, and long-time companion Edith Rector. He was preceded in death by His wife, Greatgrandson Jonah Reed, 5 Brothers: Cecil, Roscoe, Vernon, Gerald “Dutch”, Ollie, 2 Sisters: Helen Riddle, and Violet Geabler.

Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 10:30 AM at: Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Paster Bill Garver will officiate. Burial will take place at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8PM on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the funeral home. There will be Military Graveside Services at the cemetery.
