Juanita V. Koontz

Juanita V. Koontz, age 94, of Bremen, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at home. She was born on Feburary 18, 1911, in Bourbon to Charles and Rosa (Mellott) Hepler.

A lifetime area resident, she was co-founder of Koontz Hardware and Gifts in Bremen. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Women's Relief Corp., and Order of the Eastern Star.

On December 21, 1930, she married Rolland E. Koontz. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Survivors include a daughter: Janet Koontz and friend Nancy Mitchell of New Bern, N.C., sons Gary Douglass (Kathleen) Koontz of Bremen and Kent (Carolyn) Koontz of Bremen, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a brother, Don Hepler of Bourbon.

Services will be held Friday, December 2, 2005, at 10:30AM at Grace United Methodist Church in Bremen with the Rev. William Garver officiating. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, December 1, 2005, from 4-8PM at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
