Ray L. Coffel, age 85, of Bremen, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2005, at the Bremen Health Care Center. He was born March 13, 1920, in Francesville, to Leslie & Berna Dean Coffel.
A lifetime area resident, Ray was a farmer and retired from Reith Riley as an operating engineer. He was a member of the Community Gospel Church and a 1938 graduate of Bourbon High School.
On January 22, 1942, he married Evelyn J. Siefer. She preceded on May 30, 2005.
Survivors include 3 sons: Richard (Linda) Coffel, Edward (Linda) Coffel, Alan (Tammy) Coffel, all of Bremen, 3 grandsons: Rob (Missi) Coffel of Bremen, Ron (Stephanie) Coffel of Saginaw, Michigan, Zachary Coffel of Bremen, 1 granddaughter: Janelle Coffel of Bremen, 4 great grandchildren: Tyler, Andrew, Erin & Nathan. 2 sisters: Ruth Huston of New Carlisle, Phyllis (Noble) Heyde of Bremen, 1 step-brother: Glenn (Betty) Eldridge of Francesville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: James, 1 sister: Mary, an infant brother: Paul, his step mother: Lena Coffel and his wife: Evelyn.
Services will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, December 8, 2005, at the Community Gospel Church in Bremen. Pastor Ron Young will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorials may be given to the Community Gospel Church, Hospice of Marshall County or the 3Cs Scholarship Fund.
