Georgene Wisler

January 20, 1943 — July 22, 2008

Georgene Wisler, 65, Wakarusa, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her residence in Wakarusa. She was born on January 20, 1943, in South Bend, to George & Isabel (Lies) Cortier.

She married Leroy WIsler on Mayday, May 1, 1965. He survives.

Georgene was a Bus driver for Penn-Harris-Madison for 29 years. She worked at WSBT for 5 years and graduated from South Bend St. Joe High School in 1961. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen and sang in the choir. She was a 4H Superintendent and project leader with ceramics and greenware for 25 years and founder of the "Hillbilly Hot Dog" Concession stand featured at many area festivals.

Survivors include her Husband Leroy Wisler of Wakarusa, 3 Sons: Daryl Wisler of Joliet, IL, Glen (Kelly) Wisler of Wyatt, Randy (Brittany) Wisler of Mishawaka, 2 Daughters: Gina (Mark Shultz) Gaines of Plymouth, Deanna (Bryan) Forbes of Bremen, 1 Brother: Jim (Jo) Cortier of Florida, 2 Sisters: Bev (Bruce) McMillen of South Bend and Jan (Dave) Akin of South Bend, Grandchildren: Bryttenny, Blake & Cassie Gaines, Bryanna, Mariah & Bryan Jr Forbes, Val, Jesse, Bella & Mika Wisler, Austin & Claire Wisler. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen with Father Polycarp Fernando officiating. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8PM on Friday, July 25, 2008, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. A Rosary Service will begin at 7:30PM on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
