Julia S. Myers

Julia S. Myers, 93, of Nappanee, passed away on July 24, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1915, in Detroit, MI, to James A. & Francis (Prall) Strider.

She married David Walter Myers. He preceded in 1976.

Julia moved to the area in 1978 from Cincinnati. She was a homemaker, Interior Decorator and an Air Traffic Controller during WWII. She attended Milford United Methodist Chuch, was on the Milford Library Board, Daughters of the American Revolution, Pratt Institute Graduate, winning the Sachs Award in 1937, Leisure Living Board Member, and received her pilot's license in 1940. Geneaology and Epigraphic (study of old language) were her hobbies. She has lived the past four years in Heritage House in Nappanee.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Sally (Bob) Cline of Milford, 1 Brother: Tom (Kathleen) Strider of Florida, Grandchildren: Christopher of Arizona and Cody of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband David Walter.

Services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at 4:00PM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford. Pastor Norm Reimer will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, OH. Friends may call 2 hours prior to service at the funeral home.
