Betty Marie Barrett

Betty Marie Barrett, 86, of North Manchester, formerly of Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at 8:43PM, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. She was born on May 6, 1922, in North Webster, to Stanley & Rachel (Eberly) Morehead.

She married Joseph M. Barrett on June 20, 1948; he survives.

A lifetime area resident, Betty was a former school teacher - Shipshewana Grade School and Boswell High School. She attended North Webster Church of the Brethren, was a 1944 graduate of Manchester College, a member of the Gideon's International Auxiliary and the Women's Temperance Union.

Survivors include her Husband: Joseph M. Barrett, 1 Daughter: Holly (John) Urschalitz of Warsaw, 2 Sons: Allen J. (Margaret) Barrett of Leiters Ford and Kerry (Denise) Barrett of North Webster, 21 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Brother: Joe Morehead, 1 Grandchild: Ben Barrett, 2 Sisters: Mabel V. Kistler and Florence Eastman.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 2:00PM at the North Webster Church of the Brethren. Burial will be at the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 30, from 4-8 PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.
