Avelda V. Roberts

Avelda V. (White) Roberts, 92, passed away at 1:10 p.m., August 20, 2008 in Lakeland Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Milford.

She was born on June 18, 1916 in North Webster to George E. and Zoa V. Scott White. On March 26, 1938 Avelda married James Bernard Roberts who preceded her on March 4, 1999.

Avelda, a lifetime resident of the Syracuse and North Webster area, was a homemaker, a former employee of Heaters engineering and the North Webster laundry mat. She was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren, the Goodwill Home Ec club and was a founding member of the Hi-Neighbor club. She was also very involved with the North Webster food pantry as a volunteer. Avelda enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Leroy Roberts, Syracuse, Earl Lavon (Phyllis) Roberts, North Webster; Jon Alan (Betty Jo) Roberts, Syracuse. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brian, David, Todd, Wende, Matt and Marc, 10 great grand children and one brother, C. Leon (Joann) White. She was preceded by her husband, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel with Garry Tom officiating. Burial will be in the North Webster Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
