Louis R. Bollenbacher

Louis “Louie” R. Bollenbacher, 82, of Nappanee, passed away August 7, 2014, at his residence. On May 5, 1932, Louie was born to Jesse and Amelia (Berger) Bollenbacher. Louie graduated from Bremen High school in 1951. He married Rachael Pfeiffer on July
31, 1954; she passed in April of 1988. Louie married Birdena (Lambright) Yoder Pfeiffer in 1989. Louie was a man of faith and raised his family in St. John's Lutheran Church in Nappanee where he served many years on the church council and participated in charitable activities. He was employed at Studebaker for a short while and retired from CTS in Elkhart after 35 years of service. Louie enjoyed entertaining at his lake cottage, playing cards and board games, as well as riding his scooter and 4-wheel ATV.

Louie is survived by his wife Birdena (Lambright) Bollenbacher and three sons, Rick Bollenbacher of Boca Raton, Florida, Greg (Wendy) Bollenbacher of Bremen, and Bryan Bollenbacher of Bremen; 4 grandchildren, Britney, Briley, Sarah, and Owen; two sisters, Ruth Rohrer of Goshen and Evelyn Leeper of Bremen; one brother, Lester Bollenbacher of Bremen; three step children, Jim (Susan) Yoder of Wyoming, Carla (John) Wisler of Montana, and Mike (Traci) Yoder of Nebraska; eight step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael; three siblings, Clarence Bollenbacher, Norman Bollenbacher and Bernice Myers.

A funeral service will be held at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, on Monday, August 11, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Roger Rohde will officiate, with burial following at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday and from 3-6 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
