David L. Miller

June 3, 1926 — October 26, 2014

David L. Miller, 88, of Walkerton passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. He was born on June 3, 1926 to Dale and Pluma (Slife) Miller. David honorably served in his country as a soldier in the US Army stationed in the Philippines during WWII. After returning home, he married Thelma Senff on December 24, 1948. David was an active member of his community; he volunteered at the Christian Community Food Pantry in Walkerton and was a member the Walkerton VFW Post 189 and the Church of the Heartland in Plymouth.

David is survived by his wife, Thelma Miller of Walkerton; two daughters, Davina (William) Borlik of North Liberty and Carolyn Bridge of Walkerton; two sons, Nicholas (Nancy) Miller of Rochester, New York and Rodney (Valanda) Miller of Koontz Lake; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Wilma Creighbaum of Bourbon and Virginia Renfro of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Spaid; two sisters, Thelma and Wanda; and a brother, Walter.

A funeral service will be held at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Herbert Hiatt will officiate the service, with burial following at the Morris Cemetery in Plymouth.

Friends may call from 11-1 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Christian Community Food Pantry in Walkerton.
