Mary L. Thornton

Mary L. Thornton, 96, of Bremen passed away November 1, 2008. She was born on June 9, 1912, in Bremen to Irv and Maude (Reed) Ranstead.

On May 10, 1935, she married Marion Thornton who preceded her in 1995.

Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Church in Nappanee.

She is survived by a daughter, Delores (Jim) Allen, North Ft. Myers, FL, two sons, Devon "Deak" (Diana) Thornton of Bremen and Wayne (Julie) Thornton of Indianapolis. Mary is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded by her parents, her husband, a daughter Lonida, a sister Bernice and two grandsons Dusty Thornton and Stephen Allen.

Services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 1:00 pm at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Kevin Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008, from 4-8pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home.
