Ruth Eleanor Gay

Ruth Eleanor Gay, 92, of Roanoke, Indiana and formerly of Milford, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Norwood Nursing Center in Huntington, Indiana. She was born October 31, 1916 in Gravelton, Indiana to James & Anna (Pearl) Stuckman. She was married to Marshall E. Gay, and he preceded her in death.

Ruth has resided in Roanoke, Fort Myers, and Milford. She was a telephone operator in Milford and LaGrange, attended Victory Christian Church in Fort Myers and Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church in Roanoke; was a member of DAR and lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Aux.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Sylvia (Albert) Gibson of Fort Myers, FL; and Carolann (Dave) Sherbahn of Roanoke, IN. 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 1 daughter in law: Sandy Gay, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She was preceded in death by a son, James; a grandson, Robert Gibson; 2 sisters, and 1 brother.

Services will be Monday, December 1, 2008, 2:00 PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford with Pastor Marvin Grooms officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
