Kathryn E. Hibschman

Kathryn E. Hibschman, age 83, of Grace Village, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at the Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake on Thursday, February 23, 2006. She was born on April 14, 1922, in Etna Green to the late Victor and Clara (Barnhart) Yeager.

A lifetime area resident, Kathryn was a member of the Syracuse Church of God, the Hex Rural Home Ec. Club and the Hex Grange in Syracuse.

On June 6, 1941, she married Oliver "Jiggs" Hibschman. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Survivors include a daughter: Carol Jane Hibschman of Ft. Wayne. 2 sons: Joe (Donna) Hibschman of Syracuse and Rev. James (Barbara) Hibschman of Streetsboro, Ohio. 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Kathryn has a sister: Eloise (Max) Berry of Etna Green, Indiana, and 2 brothers: Paul Yeager of Goshen and Bill Yeager of Akron, also surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Oliver "Jiggs," her sister: Esther Huebner and a brother: Robert Yeager.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 10:30AM at the Syracuse Church of God, 104 East Washington Street, Syracuse, Indiana. Rev. Vince Wilczynski & Rev. James Hibschman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2006, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse and 1 hour prior to services at the Church of God.

Memorials may be given to the Syracuse Church of God or to the Gideon's International.
