Bertha Verhaeghe

Bertha Verhaeghe, 97, of Bremen, passed away at 7:25 pm, Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Bertha was born on January 25, 1918 in Bremen, the daughter of the late Fritz and Bertha (Zingg) Weber. On December 30, 1939 in Mishawaka, she married Henry “Hank” Verhaeghe. He passed away on August 9, 2009. She is survived by three sons, Michael (Lynn) Verhaeghe of Bremen, Larry (Lori) Verhaeghe of Bremen, and Richard Verhaeghe of Plymouth; Daughter-in-law, Linda Verhaeghe of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Leon, grandson, Robert and seven siblings. Bertha was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 pm, Friday, July 31, 2015 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday in the funeral home with burial to follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Signature Health Care for their loving care. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice.
