Clarence R. Eby

June 16, 1924 — February 25, 2006

Clarence R. Eby, age 81, of Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend on Saturday, February 25, 2006. He was born in Klondike, Indiana, on June 16, 1924, to Ellis B. and Frances (Searer) Wallace.

A lifetime area resident, Clarence was a turkey and Angus cattle farmer with his father, worked at Bendix in South Bend for several years and retired as a draftsman at Commodore Corporation. He was a member of the Brethren Church, sang in the Eby Quartet, WWII U.S. Marine Veteran, serving in Okinawa, life member of the VFW Post 1342 in Syracuse, member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, ABC Bowlers Hall of Fame, 1942 Graduate of Syracuse High School and an avid mushroom hunter.

On August 20, 1954, he married Fran (Cohenour). She survives.

Survivors include his wife: Fran, of Syracuse, 6 children: Alice (Jim) Delch of New Jersey, Curtis Eby of Kimmell, Crystal Rogers of Cromwell, Carlton Eby of North Webster, Charles Eby of Kimmell, Craig Eby of Kimmell, 3 grandchildren: Candy, Casey, Kevin (Penny), 7 great grandchildren: Christie, Dawn, Hailey, Emma, Alexis, Allysa, Colton, 2 sisters: Emogene Davis of Sebring, Florida and Marie Tom of Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006, at 10:30AM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Rev. Ken Robinson will officiate. Military graveside services will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross Blood Service.
