Kay E. Rans

Kay Ellen Rans, 79, of Bremen, passed away at 1:27 am, Friday, October 9, 205 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, IN. Kay was born on September 9, 1936, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn (Shaffer) Svidensky. On April 21, 1956, in Philadelphia, she married Francis Rans. She is survived by her loving husband, Francis; four children, Cathy (Jim) Michels of Mishawaka, Steve (Kim) Rans of Plymouth, Sam (Bonnie) Rans of Columbia City and Andy (Michelle) Rans of Van Buren, IN; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a son in law, Lucio Galvan of Hendersonville, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Wanda Galvan. Kay was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, cooking, fishing, and camping. She will be remembered for her love of Chuck Norris, especially as Walker, Texas Ranger. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Bremen Cemetery.
