Noble R. Heyde

Noble Richard Heyde, 90, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 10:45 pm, Monday, April 18, 2016 in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Noble was born on June 13, 1925, the son of the late Richard and Daisy (Senff) Heyde. He was a lifetime resident of Bremen. On June 7, 1947, he married Phyllis Coffel at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis of Bremen. Together they have five children, Paul (Debbie) Heyde of Houston, TX, Rick (Pamela) Heyde of Kentland, IN, Mark (Kelly) Heyde of Bremen, Bill (Carolyn) Heyde of Bremen and Rita (Vaughn) Smith of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren, Keenan (Diane) Heyde, Sybil (Eric) Belcher, Rachel Heyde, Brandy (Shawn) Montague, Brooke (Jeff) Linn, Brianne (Andrew) Schutter, Josh (Tricia) Heyde, Nathan Heyde, Lucas Heyde, John Dudeck, Nicholas (Lisa) Dudeck, Scott (Vicki) Smith and Todd (Darlene) Smith; and 16 great grandchildren, Duncan, Gweneth, Fred, Josephine, Miya, Bauer, Noah, Harper, Kade, Aidan, Kendal, Parker, Sawyer, Collin, Nicholas, and Emily. After graduating from Bremen High School in 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked at Studebaker in South Bend until he started farming in 1947. He farmed for 42 years until he retired. He was a hard worker and achieved his goals of becoming a loving husband and father, successful farmer, and knowledgeable expert in many fields. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen, American Legion, and a charter member of the Bremen Lion’s Club. He also served on the board of the Bremen Hospital and was a member of the Pioneer Auto Club of South Bend. His passions and talents included cars and motorcycles, Harley Davidson, Hydroplane boat racing, raising prize winning Shetland ponies, antique car restorations; 1910 Buick, 1929 Elcar, and a 1929 Packard, and collecting antique toys and other antiques in general. Many consulted him in each of these fields. His charm, sense of humor, compassion for others, and sparkling blue eyes touched many lives. He showed unending love for his family and his sweet presence will be dearly missed. Friends and family may visit from 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday, April 25, 2016 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen with one hour of visitatoin prior to the service in church. Burial of ashes will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545, or Signature Health Care, 316 Woodies Ln, Bremen, IN 46506.
