Janis W. Nahler, 80, of Syracuse passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, 2:45 AM at her daughters residence. She was born January 18, 1929 in Columbia City, Indiana to Joy & Edith (Gilbert) Hiscutt. In 1971 she married Paul Nahler, he preceded her in death in 1989.
Janis moved to Syracuse in 1998 coming from Churubusco, Indiana. She was a licensed beautician and previously owned and operated Klip N Kurl Beauty Salon in Churubusco for over 30 years, and attened Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
Survivors include 3 children: Anna M. McCreery of Sturgis, Michigan; Timothy W. Firestone of Auburn, Indiana; and Linda (Daniel Sr.) Stuckman of Syracuse. 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Frank Hiscutt of Fort Wayne and Judd Hiscutt of New Port Ritchie, Florida; and 1 sister: Joyce Bair. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Michael J. Firestone in 1963; 3 siblings: Eileen harrold, Gilbert Hiscutt and Robert Hiscutt, and 1 great grandson: Cameron T. Reed
Services will be Wednesday, June 24, 11:00 AM at Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse. Pastors Harlan Steffen and Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be in Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 23 from 5-8 PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
