Melinda E. Stratton, 45, of Greenville, NY, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 after a short illness. She was born on May 12, 1971 in Bremen, to Barbara Leeper Berg and the late Michael Berg. She was raised in Bremen, attended Valparaiso University, where her love for traveling began when she studied abroad in Cambridge, England. She then moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University, where she received a Master’s Degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice. Before settling in Greenville, New York she lived in Sandpoint, Idaho for several years. She attended Sage College, where she received a second Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration. Mindy was an avid traveler across the world. She was a member and volunteer in various organizations, especially for the Wounded Warriors through the Adaptive Sports Foundation. Mindy is survived by her companion, Randy Flavin and his 2 children, Juliana and Randy, Jr. She is also survived by her grandmother, Evelyn Leeper, mother Barbara Berg, sister Audra Berg, several cousins and a large extended group of close friends. Mindy is preceded in death by her grandparents, E.W. (Bud) & Ruth Berg, Adam Leeper and her father, Michael Berg. Calling hours will be held on Monday August 29, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St. Bremen, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm.
