Thomas J. Haggenjos, age 73, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on March 3, 1933, to George C. & Frances Mae (Miller) Haggenjos.
On June 19, 1954, he married Shirley Argabright. She survives.
Moving to Syracuse from South Bend in 1994, Thomas was retired from the American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) as a Supervisor after 33 years. He was a member of the Saint Martin dePorres Catholic Church of Syracuse and a former member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend for 40 years. He was a member of the Pioneers, Member of the Knights of Columbus (Syracuse), Member of the American Legion of Syracuse Post #223, 1951 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Ft. Wayne, and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War Conflict.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Haggenjos of Syracuse, his children: Mary Colleen (Chuck) Nyers of South Bend, Dr. Mark (Donna) Haggenjos of Portland, Indiana, Barbara (Terry) Booher of Brandon, Florida, and Kevin (Rita) Haggenjos of Osceola, Indiana. His grandchildren: Tony Hudson, Charlie Nyers, Kevin (Christine) Hudson, Heather Haggenjos, Leslie Booher, Lee Haggenjos, Lauren Haggenjos, Liza Haggenjos, Kari Haggenjos and Kyle Haggenjos. He was also Dad to Henry and Jasmine Sy of the Philippines and Grandpa to their 3 children. His brothers and sisters: George (Virginia) Haggenjos of Columbia City, Arlene (John) Kiel of Fort Wayne, Shirley Harkenrider of Fort Wayne, Robert Haggenjos of Fort Wayne and Dorothy Haggenjos of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 11:30AM, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend. Father Bernard Galic will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM a the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Friends may also call one and one half hours prior to services on Thursday, April 20, 2006, beginning at 10:00AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 56407 Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Rosary will be said at 7:30PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Care at Home Hospice of Goshen General Hospital, the Knights of Columbus of Syracuse or the Holy Family Catholic Church of South Bend.
