Walter Alan Lynch, 78, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 3:44 am, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Walter was born on May 15, 1938, the son of Cortland and Viola (Vollmer) Lynch. On March 15, 1984, he married Doris Becknell. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Doris; seven children; Jennifer (Tom) Dhaese of Indianapolis, Greg (Donna) Lynch of Newburgh, IN, Mike (Carolyn) Lynch of Bremen, Richard (Tina) Keyser of Bremen, Paul (Sarah) Keyser of Bremen, Cheryl (Richard) Housley of Goshen and Amy (Keith) Miller of Bremen. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and son in law, Tim Cook of Nappanee. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judith (Phend), daughter, Mary Cook, sister, Carol Bope and brother, Don Lynch. Walter proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1959. He worked for the Bremen Foundry for many years and Bremen Community Schools. Also after retirement he was a school crossing guard. He was a member of the Bremen Missionary Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 21, 2016 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Road, Bremen with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Kurt Litwiller will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
