Gerald E. Bope

Gerald “Jerry” Eugene Bope, 76, of Bremen, passed away at 7:43 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Hospice House of St. Joseph surrounded by family.  Jerry was born on March 5, 1940, the son of the late Charles and Ruby Della (Kaser) Bope. Jerry is survived by five children; Mark (Nancy) Bope of Moyock, NC, Tim Bope of Plymouth, Brenda (Jay) Haas of Argos, Dawn (David) Bice of Bremen and Dana Davis of Bremen; 11 grandchildren; Ryan LaFree, Jerika Bope, Adam Bope, Deann Clarke, Gary Bope, Amber Davis, Ashley Pippenger, Andrea Fisher, Chase Bice, Shantel Bice, and Lexy Davis; and 13 great grandchildren, Hayden Bope, Roman LaFree, Rory LaFree, Moriah Clarke, Wyatt Clarke, Hunter Davis, Jaxon Davis, Emily Pippenger, Megan Pippenger, Weston Fisher, Waylon Fisher, Nikolas Fisher and Austin Fisher.  He is also survived by ex-wife Gail Bope of Bremen. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Carol (Lynch) Bope, sister, Barbara Jones and brothers, James L., Russell, and Charles Bope. Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 27, 2017 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Rd., Bremen with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Kurt Litwiller will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
