Samuel L. Berger, 66, of Lakeville, passed away in his home March 6, 2017. Sam was born on March 18, 1950 in Plymouth to the late Noble S. and Ruth M. (McCullough) Berger. He is survived by two children; Chad (Sarah) Berger of Lakeville and Lindy (Kyle) Johnson of Valparaiso and five grandchildren; Michaela Berger, Carson Berger, Peyton Johnson, Grant Johnson and Evan Johnson. He is also survived by four siblings; Larry Berger of Dewey, AZ, Marlene Allen of Columbia, SC, Jana (Jack) Oliver of Plymouth and Julie (Don) Thornton of Xenia, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dean Berger. Sam was a lifelong Marshall County resident and a graduate of LaVille High School. He worked for UPS for 25 years before his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, participating in antique tractor pulls, and never missed a Purdue basketball game. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed. Visitation will take place from 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, March 10, 2017 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Shiloh Wesleyan Church, 10532 4B Rd., Plymouth, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be made to a scholarship fund that has been set up for Bremen students to further their education focusing in Agriculture.
