Robert Hamman

August 5, 1932 — March 23, 2017

Robert Sherman Hamman, 84, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 4:53 am, Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Bob was born on August 5, 1932, the son of Fred and Ethel (Pearson) Hamman. On May 25, 1985, he married June Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, June; four children; Cheryl (Ken) McIntosh of Pierceton, April (Mike) Kyle of Middlebury, Robin (Bob) Umbaugh of Walkerton and Tricia (Greg) Gohring of Wabash, IN; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters; Delores Helvey of North Manchester, Marcella Ratliff of Bourbon, Jenny Brubaker of North Manchester, Angie (Floyd) Maxton of Mariam, IN and Vangie Hoag of Huntington.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Karen Hamman and grandson, Frank Harris. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict Era.  He was honorably discharged in 1954. He worked as a purchasing agent in the Mobile Home Industry and after his retirement, he worked for the Ace Hardware in Warsaw for many years. Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed building birdhouses. He loved having coffee with his friend’s at McDonalds. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Saturday, March 25, 2017 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the church with burial in the Bremen Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
