Gordon Robert Carpenter

February 18, 1939 — May 10, 2006

Gordon Robert "Gordy" Carpenter, age 67, of Cromwell, passed away May 10, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 18, 1939.
On December 6, 1979, he married Victoria (Wilson), she survives.

Gordy was a lifetime area resident, also living in Fort Meyers Beach, FL. He was a former Marine Mechanic, working for Griffiths Marina of Syracuse and Tippecanoe Boat Company of Leesburg. He was the former owner of G&G Texaco Station in Syracuse and he was semi-retired from South Shore Golf Course.
He was a 1956 graduate of Columbia City High School and he attended Purdue University.

Gordy was a member of The Eagles in Syracuse and a member of Maxwelton Golf Club and South Shore Golf course in Syracuse.

Survivors include his wife: Victoria of Cromwell, 2 Daughters: Teresa (William) Edmiston of Atlanta, GA, Lydia (Drew) Mihalik of Findlay, OH, 2 Sons: Gordon Gregory Carpenter of Laguna Beach, CA, Nick Carpenter of Cromwell, 2 Grandsons: Wesley Edmiston and J.J. Mihalik.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 5:00PM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Harlan Steffen will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday, May 13, 2006 from
1:00PM - 5:00PM at the funeral home.
