A. Lucille “Lucy” Cox, 84, of Bremen passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth. She was born November 18, 1924 in Rushville, IN to Alvin & Elsie (Ryman) Clark and graduated from Rushville High School in 1942. She married James R. “Jim” Cox on September 15, 1946. He survives.
Lucy was a school secretary at Bremen and Culver, a dental assistant for Dr. Hassel in Bremen, and retired from Package Masters (Indiana Carton), Bremen, in 1985. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Bremen, a member of Easter Star in Bremen and Culver, and served as Past Worthy Matron in Culver.
Survivors include husband of almost 63 years Jim Cox of Bremen, 1 daughter Joetta G. (Gregory) Balsley of Plymouth, 1 son Jerry Allen (Cindy) Cox of Plymouth, 7 grandchildren: Kelsey, Casey, Angel, Shelby, Chris, Courtney & Kyle, 3 great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Karzdon & Izabella, 1 sister Evelyn (Don) Canedy of Palm Desert, CA, and 1 brother Kenneth Clark of High Point, NC. She was preceded in death by son Jeffery R. Cox and brother Loren Clark.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Miller. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 – 8 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Marshall County or Bremen United Methodist Church.
